Focus and research interest

Design research, Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Participatory Design (PD), Science Technology Society-studies (STS), Health Informatics.

On the CITH-project I engage in research on design methods for healthcare. I wish to explore the generative power of ethnographic accounts and conceptual frameworks from e.g. CSCW, STS and social sciences when turning to design activities.

These interests can be seen as sub questions to an overall research question on design methods:
(1) How and in what ways can valuable ethnographic accounts and concepts from CSCW, STS and social sciences become generative in design activity?
(2) Focused on the generative power of materialization; how and in what ways can insights from (1) become generative as materialization and enter as design artifacts known as e.g. prototypes?
